Star Alliance Paris Lounge retains World’s Best title

The Star Alliance lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport has been named the World’s Best Airline Alliance Lounge for a third consecutive year at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, according to a press release issued by Air India.

The Star Alliance lounge at Los Angeles International Airport ranked second in the same category, giving the alliance the top two positions this year.

The award was presented at a ceremony at The Langham Hotel in London, attended by airline leaders and senior industry representatives. The Skytrax awards are based on an independent global passenger survey and are widely regarded as a benchmark for airline and airport customer experience.

Star Alliance Vice President for Customer Experience Ambar Franco said the recognition reflected the continued commitment of member airlines and partners to ‘creating experiences that help journeys flow more effortlessly’.

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted congratulated Star Alliance on the win, saying the awards highlighted the alliance’s efforts to ‘deliver a well-coordinated airport experience that appeals to today’s international customers.

Star Alliance France Managing Director Virginie Auriol, who accepted the award on behalf of the alliance, said it was rewarding to see the Paris lounge recognised for the third consecutive year since opening in 2023.

Located in Terminal 1 at Paris CDG, the 1,300-square-metre lounge opened in October 2023. It features a dedicated welcome bar, a wine section inspired by French wine culture and views of the airport’s runways.

The press release also noted that Air India, a Star Alliance member, was named ‘Best Airline in India’ and ‘Best Airline Staff in India & South Asia’ at the same awards. The airline also received Skytrax four-star certification for its Business and Economy Class cabins.

Twenty-one Star Alliance member airlines currently serve Paris, operating more than 800 weekly flights to over 30 destinations in more than 20 countries, the release said.
