Air India launches campaign with cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
The film was conceptualised and produced by Air India in partnership with creative agency McCann
Air India has released the latest chapter of its brand campaign, ‘There is an Air About India’, featuring young Indian cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of the upcoming Asian Games.
The digital film traces Sooryavanshi’s journey and features athletes, families, coaches and mentors from across Indian sport, built around the idea that individual achievement is powered by collective support. The campaign’s soundtrack carries the refrain ‘Together We Fly’.
First launched in 2025, the campaign initially focused on the confidence and momentum of a rising nation. Air India said the latest chapter takes a more personal approach, highlighting the people behind athletes’ success, including parents, coaches, teammates and fans.
The airline said it is among the first major Indian brands to partner with Sooryavanshi, describing him as representative of a new generation of Indian talent recognised and supported from a young age.
The film was conceptualised and produced by Air India in partnership with creative agency McCann, featuring an original Indian fusion rap soundtrack.
The release comes as Air India continues a broader transformation since returning to the Tata Group in 2022. The airline has placed orders for 600 new aircraft and is carrying out a $400 million retrofit programme on its legacy fleet, with narrowbody retrofits completed and five aircraft returned to service. It has also inducted four new Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Air India has additionally established what it describes as South Asia’s largest aviation training academy, where 21 full-flight simulators for Airbus and Boeing aircraft are being installed. The airline is also setting up a new flying school in Amravati, Maharashtra, and a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility and training school in Bengaluru.
