A new platform titled “Primary Education Unity Council” has formed a convening committee and an advisory committee to press for the legitimate demands of primary school teachers and officials.
According to a press release, a 15-member convening committee has been formed, with Mohammad Abdul Aziz, Deputy Director of Dhaka Division, as convener. Deputy Director of the Directorate of Primary Education, Md Kamruzzaman, has been named joint convener, while Education Officer (Administration) Md Rafiqul Islam Rumi will serve as member secretary.
In addition, a six-member advisory committee has been constituted. Its members include Deputy Directors Mohammad Rakib Uddin, Ms Nilufar Yasmin, Md Abdul Alim and Aleya Ferdousi Shikha, along with Assistant Directors Md Raihul Karim and Khandakar Din Mohammad.
District Primary Education Officer Sheikh Md Ahidul Alam has also been included in the advisory body.
The press release said the newly formed committees will work to identify key challenges in the primary education sector and take effective steps to address them.
The council also aims to ensure the rights, welfare and professional dignity of teachers through a coordinated and unified approach.
