Both appointments will be effective from the date of joining and will remain valid for one year
The government has appointed new top executives at the state aviation company Biman Bangladesh Airlines, naming Kaizer Sohail Ahmed as managing director (MD) and Syed Moinuddin Ahmed as deputy managing director (DMD) on contractual terms.
According to separate orders issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday, both appointments will be effective from the date of joining and will remain valid for one year.
Kaizer Sohail Ahmed has been appointed as MD with the condition that he must relinquish all existing professional engagements, including roles in government, semi-government, private organisations, or any business activities, before assuming office.
Similarly, Syed Moinuddin Ahmed has been appointed as DMD under the same conditions, requiring him to sever all prior professional and business ties ahead of taking up the position.
The orders state that detailed terms and conditions of both appointments will be finalised through formal contracts. The government said the decisions have been taken in the public interest.
