The government has announced that the official inauguration of Hajj flights for 2026 will be held at 2:00am on April 18 from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given consent to attend the event as the chief guest and formally launch the Hajj flight operations.

The ministry said the minister and state minister for civil aviation and tourism will also be present at the event.
As part of this year’s Hajj arrangements, the government has taken several measures to facilitate pilgrims. Authorities said the airfare for Hajj pilgrims has been reduced by Tk 12,000 per ticket compared to the previous government.

In addition, more than 78,000 pilgrims will go this year without operating any chartered flights, indicating improved management and coordination in regular flight operations.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat said the initiative is aimed at making Hajj travel more affordable and efficient for Bangladeshi pilgrims.

Officials expressed hope that the measures will ensure smooth and hassle-free Hajj operations this year.
