Govt pushes safe workplaces for women in aviation, tourism
Minister urges parents to support girls' education and skills development
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam on Friday said the government is working to ensure safe workplaces for women in the aviation and tourism sectors.
She made the remarks as chief guest at a meeting styled 'Education Excellence Support Scheme' at the Saturia upazila conference room in Manikganj.
Speaking at the event, Afroza Khanam highlighted the government's efforts to promote technical and women's education and urged parents to play a more active role in supporting these initiatives.
She said the government, guided by the motto "Bangladesh First", is working to ensure modern, relevant and quality education for all. Alongside reforming the fragile education system inherited from the previous government, it has taken a range of measures to expand technical and vocational education and better match skills with job market demands.
Highlighting the importance of women's education, the minister said there is no alternative to educating women for the country's overall development. She added that greater parental awareness and a positive attitude can go a long way towards expanding educational opportunities for girls and promoting women's education nationwide.
