TOAB, BATJA to work together for tourism industry

The Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) and the Bangladesh Aviation and Tourism Journalists Association (BATJA) have agreed to work jointly to promote the local tourism industry.

The commitment was made at a courtesy meeting and discussion between the leaders of the two organisations on the current state of the tourism sector, challenges and opportunities facing tourism businesses, and measures needed to make the industry more dynamic.

The meeting was held on Sunday afternoon at the TOAB office in Agargaon, Dhaka, with members of BATJA’s newly elected executive committee meeting TOAB leaders. During the meeting, the participants discussed the current condition of the tourism industry, problems faced by tourism businesses and potential areas for growth. They also exchanged views on measures needed to strengthen and expand the sector.

TOAB leaders stressed the need for greater government attention to the tourism industry, effective measures to resolve existing problems faced by tour operators, and the formulation and implementation of tourism-friendly policies.

BATJA leaders emphasised stronger coordination among the government, tourism businesses, relevant organisations and the media to ensure the sustainable development of the tourism industry.

They also expressed their commitment to contributing to the sector’s growth by highlighting tourism-related challenges, opportunities and positive initiatives through the media.

The meeting also discussed ways to attract more international tourists alongside promoting domestic tourism, strengthening the branding and promotion of Bangladesh’s tourism destinations, and improving the quality of tourism services.

At the end of the meeting, leaders of both organisations expressed their commitment to maintaining regular communication, discussions and mutual cooperation in the future to support the development and expansion of Bangladesh’s tourism industry.
