Md Suzauddhowla, online chief reporter of BanglaVision, has been appointed as the deputy press secretary to the prime minister. He was appointed by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday (March 2) in recognition of his special contributions to people-oriented and development journalism.

Suzauddhowla is popularly named as Sujan Mahmud in the media landscape of Bangladesh.

According to a government notification, Sujauddoula has been appointed as the PM’s deputy press secretary on a contractual basis, subject to renunciation of any other profession, business or employment relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution/organisation.

The appointment will be valid from the date of assuming the new assignment. He will be paid as per the last step of the Grade-4 pay scale for serving office during the term of the prime minister or for his satisfaction (whichever occurs earlier).

The notification further states that other terms and conditions of Suzauddhowla’s appointment will be determined by the contract.

Sujan Mahmud has been engaged in journalism for long years in different media outlets and possesses expertise in building linkage between the administration and the media.

Journalists Hasan Shiplu and Jahidul Islam Rony have also been apppointed in the post the same day.
