24 flights cancelled today as ME crisis disrupts Dhaka air traffic

Flight disruptions continued at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday as the ongoing Middle East conflict forced airlines to cancel more services due to security concerns and restricted airspace.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), a total of 24 flights were cancelled on Saturday, bringing the cumulative number of cancellations to 475 since 28 February.

The disruptions began after seven countries in the Middle East temporarily closed their airspace amid escalating security risks, affecting international routes connecting Dhaka with key regional destinations.

CAAB data show that 23 flights were cancelled on 28 February, followed by 40 on 1 March, 46 on 2 March, 39 on 3 March, 28 on 4 March, 36 on 5 March, 34 on 6 March, 28 on 7 March, 28 on 8 March, 33 on 9 March, 32 on 10 March, 27 on 11 March, 28 on 12 March and 25 on 13 March.
