An aircraft carrying Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez was forced to make an emergency landing in Turkey on Sunday evening due to a technical issue, the government in Madrid confirmed.

In a statement, the Spanish government said the delegation would stay overnight in Ankara before continuing their journey to Armenia the following morning.
No further details were provided about the nature of the technical problem.
European leaders are scheduled to gather in Yerevan for the EPC summit, which is set to begin on Monday.
