A cake-cutting ceremony was held on campus on October 4 to mark ULAB’s 23rd founding anniversary.

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) celebrated its 23rd founding anniversary with various programmes and cultural activities. The daylong programme held on October 4, at the ULAB campus brought together university teachers, students, alumni, distinguished guests and members of the university.

The event was organised to celebrate more than two decades of education, research, innovation, creativity and progress. Five interactive zones—Discover, Develop, Demonstrate, Distinguish and Belong, were set up across the campus throughout the day. The zones showcased ULAB’s educational opportunities, experiential learning, student achievements, creativity and activities of various clubs.

The programme also featured a student capacity showcase, an international cultural event, a mural titled Ideas of Bangladesh, an exhibition on international partnerships, Chinese calligraphy organised by the Confucius Institute, and a Japanese traditional yukata-wearing and origami workshop organised by the Embassy of Japan.

The formal anniversary programme began at 4pm with a performance of ULAB’s theme song. ULAB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Samsad Mortuza delivered the welcome address. He highlighted the university’s 23-year journey, its commitment to quality education and innovation, and its goal of producing graduates capable of meeting future challenges.

A documentary highlighting the university’s achievements and major milestones was screened at the event.
