M Rashiduzzaman Millat has been appointed State Minister for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism in Bangladesh’s newly formed government, marking a notable development for both the cabinet and the country’s aviation and tourism sectors.
Millat represents Jamalpur-1 (Dewanganj–Bakshiganj) in the 13th National Parliament, where he secured a decisive victory. A seasoned politician of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), he currently serves as Treasurer of the party’s Central Committee and President of Dewanganj Upazila BNP. He is also an adviser to the party’s “Amra BNP Poribar” cell and a former President of Jamalpur District BNP.
Millat first entered parliament in 2001 from the same constituency, establishing a longstanding connection with his constituents. His appointment as State Minister is expected to strengthen government initiatives to modernise Bangladesh’s aviation infrastructure, improve tourism facilities, and promote the country as a global travel destination.
Political analysts note that Millat’s combination of parliamentary experience and party leadership positions him to play a key role in advancing strategic projects within the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, including policy formulation, international collaboration, and boosting visitor arrivals.
The appointment reflects the government’s focus on leveraging experienced leaders to drive growth in sectors critical to Bangladesh’s economy and international profile.
