The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised four maritime seaports of the country -- Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra ports -- to hoist cautionary signal no-3 due to increased air pressure variations over the North Bay of Bengal and its adjoining areas.
In a weather bulletin issued on Tuesday morning, the Met office said a marked difference in air pressure is prevailing over the North Bay, which may lead to adverse weather conditions.
Following the alert, the maritime seaports have been advised to display Local Cautionary Signal No-3.
The advisory further urged all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal to remain close to the coast and exercise caution until further notice.
