The mortal remains of content creator, food vlogger and actress Kaarina Kaisar will be taken home from Chennai, India, tomorrow (Sunday) as she passed away on the midnight of Friday while undergoing treatment there. She had been suffering from severe liver-related complications.

Her father, former Bangladesh national footballer Mohammad Kaisar Hamid, said her condition suddenly worsened during treatment for a lung infection.

“Her blood pressure dropped sharply while doctors were administering antibiotics. Despite their best efforts, they could not save her,” he told reporters.

Kaarina had been battling critical liver complications for several days. She was first admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka and later placed on life support before being flown to India on Monday night for advanced medical treatment.

She was receiving treatment at Christian Medical College Hospital, where doctors were treating her lung infection while also preparing for a possible liver transplant.

Family members said Kaarina initially developed a fever before doctors identified an infection. Complications arising from Hepatitis A and E later caused liver failure, leading to a rapid deterioration in her condition.

Known for her engaging online presence and relatable content, Kaarina gained popularity among young audiences through social media before expanding into acting and scriptwriting for television dramas and OTT platforms.

Her notable works included Internship.

Following news of her death, fellow artistes, filmmakers and fans expressed deep grief and condolences across social media.
