CAAB launches ICAO-accredited security inspectors’ course
The ASNI course is designed to strengthen oversight and inspection capacities in aviation security and support the implementation of ICAO's Standards and Recommended Practices
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on Monday inaugurated an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)-accredited Aviation Security National Inspectors (ASNI) course at the Civil Aviation Academy in Dhaka.
The two-week training programme has brought together 12 aviation security inspectors from Bangladesh and several other countries, according to a CAAB press release.
Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehbub Khan, CAAB Member (Operations and Planning), presided over the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, while Air Commodore Md Asif Iqbal, Member (Security), attended as the special guest.
Civil Aviation Academy Director Prashanta Kumar Chakraborty and ICAO-certified course instructor Mohammad Alamgir were also present at the ceremony.
The ASNI course is designed to strengthen oversight and inspection capacities in aviation security and support the implementation of ICAO's Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
CAAB said participants would gain the knowledge and skills required to conduct modern aviation security inspections, assessments and oversight operations, enabling Bangladesh's airports to meet and maintain international security standards and remain in step with global aviation security requirements.
