UK trade envoy meets Bangladesh aviation minister
At the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of deepening trade relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
UK Trade Envoy Baroness Rosie Winterton of Doncaster held a meeting with Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita and State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat on Wednesday to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding investment in the aviation and tourism sectors.
The meeting took place at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka, where both sides emphasised the importance of deepening trade relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
During the discussion, the UK trade envoy expressed her country’s willingness to support Bangladesh in implementing its development priorities, including those outlined in the government’s election manifesto.
The two sides also explored opportunities arising from the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), particularly in boosting investment in Bangladesh’s aviation and tourism sectors. The UK showed interest in participating in ground handling operations at the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The minister and state minister reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to working jointly with the UK to further develop the country’s aviation and tourism industries.
The meeting reflects growing engagement between the two countries aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and attracting foreign investment into key sectors.
