The "Current Approaches in Tourism Education" training, organised jointly by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Türkiye's Ministry of National Education, and Cox's Bazar City College, was successfully completed in Bangladesh's premier tourist destination, publishes TIKA Facebook Page.

46 participants completed 40-hour programme

A total of 46 participants, including tourism educators, industry representatives, government officials, and students, attended the 40-hour training programme. The initiative was launched simultaneously with the inauguration of the City College Training Kitchen, a modern facility established by TİKA in Cox's Bazar to provide hands-on training opportunities.

Comprehensive curriculum

The training covered the importance of tourism education, its contributions to the sector, and its transformation in line with current needs. Participants examined Türkiye's tourism education structure, objectives, and sectoral expectations, while learning about the integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies into educational processes.

Best practices from European countries—including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Greece—were comparatively analysed, helping participants identify areas for improvement within their own education systems.

Turkish Cuisine Day

A tasting event featuring examples of Turkish cuisine was organised with the participation of distinguished guests. During the "Turkish Cuisine Day" event, traditional Turkish dishes were introduced, and their preparation processes were demonstrated hands-on.

Final assessment and certification

On the final day, participants were tasked with creating original dishes. Their presentations were evaluated by a jury, assessing professional knowledge, creativity, and practical skills. The programme concluded with a certificate ceremony.

The opening ceremony was attended by officials from Bangladesh's Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commission (RRRC), representatives from the Turkish Field Hospital, the Turkish Red Crescent Bangladesh Delegation, and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation officials in Bangladesh.
