TOAB alliance holds Sufi night ahead of election
Representatives of the alliance said the country's tourism sector is at a critical stage of development and requires transparency, inclusiveness and long-term planning to realise its full potential
TOAB Agragami Oikkojot hosted a "Sufi Night & Dinner" in Dhaka, bringing together members of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) in a display of unity ahead of the upcoming TOAB election.
The event provided a platform for tourism stakeholders to strengthen professional ties and exchange views on the future of Bangladesh's tourism industry. Organisers said the gathering reflected the sector's commitment to collaboration, ethical leadership and sustainable growth.
The programme featured Sufi music, a dinner reception and networking sessions, creating an atmosphere of harmony while encouraging discussions on the opportunities and challenges facing the tourism sector.
Addressing the event, TOAB Agragami Oikkojot Panel Chief and presidential candidate Dr Taslim Amin Shovon stressed the need for experienced leadership and collective efforts to build a stronger and more sustainable tourism industry.
Representatives of the alliance said the country's tourism sector is at a critical stage of development and requires transparency, inclusiveness and long-term planning to realise its full potential. They also reaffirmed their commitment to working for the overall development of the industry if elected.
The event carried added significance ahead of the TOAB polls, with speakers highlighting the importance of unity among tourism stakeholders in advancing common goals and ensuring the sector's long-term growth.
Members of TOAB Agragami Oikkojot thanked participants for their support and called on TOAB members to back their panel in the forthcoming election.
Among those attending were founder members and former TOAB presidents Faridul Haque and Taufiq Uddin Ahmed; founder member Syed Golam Qadir; BOTOA President Syed Golam Mohammad Badsha; BD Inbound founder president Rezaul Ekram; TDAB founder chairman Syed Habib Ali; ISC Chairman and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation director Mohiuddin Helal; and ATJFB President Md Tanzim Anwar.
The event was moderated by senior journalist Pranab Saha, Chief Editor of Travel Bangla. The programme was coordinated by TOAB Agragami Oikkojot Chief Coordinator Chowdhury Hasanuzzaman Rony, President of BOTOF, and Deputy Coordinator Abdullah Al Kafi, CEO of Bangladesh Vacation.
