The immigration authorities have launched a 24-hour immigration hotline at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital to reduce the sufferings of the passengers, reports online news portal Bangla News24.
The answer to the question of passport validity before traveling abroad, whether there is any ban on leaving the country or whether there are any immigration-related complications can now be found on the phone.
Information can be obtained by calling 01320007588. Officials on duty 24 hours a day and night are answering various questions related to immigration of the passengers.
According to a senior official of the Immigration Department of the Special Branch (SB), the hotline was launched on August 19.
He said many passengers are doubtful about the validity of their passports before going abroad.
If someone's passport is valid for four months or less, whether it is possible to travel, someone wants to know with their passport information, whether there is a lawsuit, ban or any other reason to travel abroad. The hotline has been set up to answer these questions.
Besides, Bangladeshis living abroad can also contact the hotline to know whether they will face any complication in immigration while returning home. Some passengers are also calling about the loss or missing luggage of the passengers, the concerned said.
