The Embassies of the Schengen States in Dhaka jointly issued a formal notice on Monday, reminding visa applicants that the responsibility for submitting correct and complete documentation rests entirely with the applicant.

"You are responsible for submitting correct and complete documentation with your application," the notice said. It was published on the verified Facebook pages of the Schengen States in Dhaka.

The notice, issued collectively by the Schengen member state missions in Dhaka, signals a firm stance by European authorities on documentation standards. Applicants have been urged not to rely on third parties or agents to ensure the accuracy of their paperwork.

Schengen visa applications require a wide range of supporting documents, including proof of travel, accommodation, financial means and the purpose of the visit. Errors or omissions — whether deliberate or inadvertent — may lead to the rejection of an application.
