aviation.com.bd organised a half-day practical learning tour at Lalbagh Fort for participants of its Tour Guide Technique and Operation workshops, giving trainees an opportunity to apply classroom lessons in a real heritage tourism setting.
Held on August 1, the field session brought together participants from the first and second workshop batches. The session focused on key aspects of professional tour guiding, including destination interpretation, visitor engagement, group management, communication and site presentation.
The practical session was led by Taufiq Rahman, founder and chief executive of Journey Plus and secretary general of the PATA Bangladesh Chapter. Participants observed and practised professional guiding techniques while exploring the historic site.
"A professional tour guide should possess not only destination knowledge but also effective communication skills and the ability to engage visitors through meaningful interpretation," Rahman said, emphasising the importance of practical exposure.
Harunur Rashid, founder and CEO of aviation.com.bd, said the field tour was designed to connect classroom learning with real-world experience and help participants understand the responsibilities of professional tour guides.
