HSIA Welfare Committee elects new leadership

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Unit Welfare Committee (HSIA Unit Welfare Committee) has elected new leadership with Md Rafiqul Islam Sujon elected as general secretary and Aviation Security (AVSEC) official Md Ashraf Ali as treasurer.

The election was held on 27 August under the supervision of an election committee comprising heads of three departments at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The election was conducted through voting in a cordial and festive atmosphere, with the outgoing and newly elected members present. The authorities said transparency, neutrality and participation were ensured throughout the process.

Following the election, members congratulated the newly elected general secretary and treasurer and expressed their commitment to working together for the welfare and interests of committee members.

According to a decision made at the meeting, the outgoing committee will hand over responsibilities to the newly elected committee by 7 September 2026. The new leadership will formally begin its activities after the handover.

The outgoing committee welcomed the newly elected members with flowers, while the new committee also honoured the outgoing members with flowers in recognition of their service.

The new leadership is expected to make the welfare committee’s activities more dynamic while strengthening member welfare, mutual cooperation and a harmonious working environment at the country’s main international gateway.

The election and scheduled handover mark the beginning of a new chapter for the HSIA Unit Welfare Committee.
