Bangladesh Medical Tourism Foundation launched in New Delhi

The Bangladesh Medical Tourism Foundation (BMTF) was formally introduced to the international healthcare community at Sanjeevani 2026, a global platform for the healthcare and medical tourism industry, in Indian capital of New Delhi.

The newly inaugurated platform is the country's first and only government-approved medical tourism foundation, said a press release issued on Wednesday.

The BMTF was officially introduced to the international community by Mohammad Murad Hossain, President of the Foundation, at a grand and prestigious gathering attended by leading medical tourism companies and healthcare representatives from 39 countries.

According to the release, the event marked a milestone for Bangladesh's developing medical tourism sector and underscored the foundation's aim of positioning the country as a destination for healthcare services, medical value travel and international healthcare collaboration.

Also present at the event, the foundation said, were its Secretary General, Md. Shahadat Rashid (Apon), and several members of its Governing Board, including Kausarul Huq Khan, Mushfiqur Rahman, Nishat Dina, Fazle Elahi and Robin Lal, along with other representatives of the organisation.

During the programme, the Bangladesh Medical Tourism Foundation presented honorary crests to three officials of India's Services Export Promotion Council in recognition of their contribution to the development and promotion of healthcare and services exports. The recipients were Dr Upasana Arora, the council's Chairperson; Dr Abhay Sinha, its Director General; and Chandranshu Awasthi, Senior Director.

The foundation described its international unveiling at Sanjeevani 2026 as a step towards strengthening Bangladesh's engagement with the global medical tourism ecosystem and building partnerships with healthcare organisations and industry leaders abroad.

In the statement, the foundation said it intends to work with stakeholders at home and abroad to build a stronger, more organised and internationally connected medical tourism sector in Bangladesh.
